Need help with my '93 Ford Ranger, can anyone help? Need help with my '93 Ford Ranger, can anyone help? Im having problems with my truck and looking for answers. Started happening recently, don't know how just did. The problem is when i press the gas a bit it chokes up and wants to die. If i step on it i can get it going but will still choke up at first before it actually runs fine. It wont die if i put it on neutral and just let it sit. starts fine, unless if i let it die, then i have trouble starting it. im guessing it has something to do with the fuel lines or something. ... im new to mechanics so not sure what it could be. car insurance. Kia . How to Replace Rear Suspension Bushings in a Dodge DurangoThe bushings on the Dodge Durango's rear suspension help absorb impact from any rough road. If they aren't in good condition, anything in the back is in for a bumpy ride, so replace them when necessary. You need to disconnect the whole stabilizer bar to change the bushings. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Replacement bushings Jack and jack stands Paint Puller C-3894-A Step by Step : 1 Raise and support the front end of the vehicle. You need to lift the Dodge Durango's entire rear end, so you'll need at least two jack stands capable of supporting the truck. 2 Place marks on the stabilizer bar where the bushings are at on the vehicle. This will help you remember where the replacements need to be placed. Any type of paint will do, but washable may work best. 3 Disconnect the stabilizer links from the rear stabilizer bar (sway bar). Disconnect the upper mounting nuts and bolts on the links, then the cotter pins and nuts. Separate and remove the links from the stabilizer bar. 4 Remove the retainers from the stabilizer bar and remove the bar from the truck. Remove the bushings from the bar. 5 Install the replacement bushings on the bar, lining them up with the markings. Reconnect the bar to the truck, making sure it's centered with equal spacing on both sides. 6 Connect the stabilizer retainers and links to the bar, then install the mounting bolts and nuts. Don't tighten any of the nuts or bolts completely until after you lower the truck to the ground. Tips & Warnings The Puller C-3894-A tool will help you separate the stabilizer links from the bar. Inspect the condition of the nuts, washers, cushions and bolts disconnected with the shaft, links and bushings. Replace them if they appear worn or damaged.
Kia . How to Rotate the Tires on a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTSThe 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse came in four main trim levels: GS, GT, GTS and RS. The GTS trim level came standard with a 210-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6 engine and high-performance, V-rated tires. These V-rated tires were very susceptible to uneven wear, due to the softer rubber compound used. Rotating the tires on the Eclipse every 5,000 miles, as recommended by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, helps keep the wear on the tires even. The NHTSA recommends a cross-rotation pattern for the front-wheel-drive Eclipse GTS. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Ratchet Socket set Floor jack 2 sets of jack stands Torque wrench Step by Step : 1 Loosen, but don't remove, the lug nuts on all four wheels, using a ratchet and socket. 2 Raise the front of the 2003 Eclipse, using a floor jack, and set jack stands under the vehicle's subframe. Lower the front of the Eclipse onto the jack stands and remove the floor jack. 3 Raise the rear of the Eclipse, using a floor jack, and set jack stands under the lower control arms -- the lowermost arm on the rear suspension. Lower the vehicle onto the jack stands. 4 Remove the lug nuts and pull all four wheels from the Eclipse. 5 Move the front tires straight to the rear of the car, keeping the tires on the same side of the Eclipse -- right front tire goes to the right rear and left front tire goes to the left rear. 6 Move the rear tires to the front of the car, crossing each tire to the opposite side of the car -- right rear tire goes to the left front and left rear tire goes to the right front. 7 Set all four tires back on the Eclipse and hand-tighten the lug nuts. 8 Raise the front of the Eclipse off the jack stands, using a floor jack, and remove the jack stands. Lower the front of the car to the ground. 9 Raise the rear of the Eclipse off the jack stands, using a floor jack, and pull the stands from under the suspension. Lower the rear of the Eclipse to the ground. Step by Step : 10 Tighten the lug nuts on all four wheels to 100 foot-pounds, in a crisscrossing pattern, using a torque wrench and socket. Tips & Warnings When the Eclipse is secured on all four jack stands, do not enter the vehicle or lean on it, as this may cause the Eclipse to become unstable. If you'd rather have the work done for you, find a reliable brake specialist rather than taking your car to the corner garage. Try the Yellow Pages or have the mechanic at your local service station steer you to one. Call a couple of places and ask for estimates on rebuilding your brakes. Avoid the cheapest place as well as the most expensive! Chapter 22 is filled with advice on finding good service facilities and dealing with them successfully. If you'd rather not deal with it at all, just leave the grime alone. 2. Wipe the dirt off the spindle and replace the wheel hub and brake drum on the spindle. If you have a floating drum, skip Steps 4 through 8 and slide the drum back over the lug nut studs until it contacts the hub. Be gentle so that you don't unseat the grease seal. 3. If you haven't already cleaned the inside of the drum, spray it with brake cleaner and wipe it out with a grease-free rag; then wrap the rag in a plastic bag and dispose of it immediately. 4.
